We spent more than a week planning, Shioli tells me. Early Saturday morning, we hide the prisoners in several Bento boxes filled with water and tie them to the cargo racks on our bicycles.

Fish are not pets, chips-in Yukio. Real pets choose to stay with you. Given the choice for river and freedom, fish leave.
